My Project Brief

For my personal project I would like to study food photography. I would like to photograph all different types of attractive, bright and vibrant foods and also incorporate images into everyday scenes. I would like to try and photograph them in as many different ways as possible so that it is not just straight forward food photography. 
I would also like to show the detail of various fruits and vegetables with very detailed close ups of the different skins and natural patterns that they have. I will try and show the textures of each food so that they look as life like and three dimensional as possible. I have many different ideas about how I will approach this project including both studio and location shoots. 
My first idea is to take food as it comes and simply photographing it from interesting angles with different clashing lighting and backgrounds.
 I would also like to take foods that you pour or has cream or purée poured onto it in order to create videos or photo videos to include in my project. I would like to cook and buy exotic foods that can be made attractive to photograph and use food to replace everyday items. 
One other idea that I have had is to create a miniature scene out of food to photograph.
I will start this project with the more simpler of my ideas by taking photographs of the food in the studio in there natural forms and then I will progress onto my more complicated and exciting ideas. I will also plan each shoot a long time in advanced so that I have everything that I need to make the shoot successful.

Influential work

Christina Otero was the photographer of this photo to the left. I would like to take influence from her work as it is a really interesting and exciting way to photograph foods. However instead of just using fruit, as this photographer does I would like to try it with all different types of food.
Francesco Tonelli's work will also be an influence on my work as seen to the left. I like the style of this photographer because the way he photographs food is sort of old fashioned and natural.I will also take influence from the other photographs on this post as well as many others.
