Wide Angle and Close up - Work Diary

In this lesson we looked at wide angle photography and close up photography. With the wide angle photography it took quite a while to get the hang of, however once I understood it it got easier. With the close ups it was not very easy as the camera was very difficult to get to focus but when I took them how I would normally take a close up photo I was really pleased with the results. To improve both of these shoots I would go out of college and use a wider range of landscapes for the wide angle photographs and even more intricate objects for the close up. I would also consider buying a macro lens for my camera so that the photos would show more specific detail in the things that I photograph.
Wide Angle
In this photograph I was trying to use a wide angle to show the height and depth of the tree. I think this photo worked well as the height of the tree and the building is extenuated and is a nice and sharp image. The tree also creates a very dominating feel in this photograph.
Once again in this photo I was using the long angle to show how far the lavender is from the background. In the photo the size of the lavender is very large compared to the size of the building showing the distance between them. To improve this photograph I would just make sure that the very front piece of lavender was in focus or wast in the photograph. In the end I think this shoot had some nice photos.

Close up
I was really pleased with this photo because of the bright contrasting colours and that I managed to catch the bee before it flew of. This photograph also has the complimentary colours of yellow and purple which make a very attractive photo. To improve this photograph as a close up photo I would just have liked it to be slightly closer to the bee so that it would show even more detail.
I was really pleased with the outcome of this photograph because each petal and the centre of the flower is very sharp and in great detail. The background is completely green and blurred which makes a nice background for the in focus flower.
