Location Portraiture - Work diary

In this lesson we looked at using wide angle, minimum depth of field and flash to create location portraiture. At first it was difficult to get all of these different aspects of the photo correct however one I got the hang of it I was pleased with the finished results of the photographs. The thing I found most difficult with this task was getting the flash right so that it did not make the photograph go completely white. To improve I would make sure that the positioning of the model in each photograph was more thought out so as not to clash with the background. The second time we went out I found it easier as I understood what we were actually trying to achieve.
I think that this photo was one of the best ones I got from this lesson. I like it because it is as if Sophie is looking at her building and is proud and has power over the building. Sophie also really stands out against the background and it is full of vibrant bright colours and generally makes an attractive photograph.
This is another of my favourite photos from this shoot as I especially like the composition of the photo. The model appears to be the most powerful person in the photo due to her being in focus and being the sam height as the buildings but still looks as if she is admiring her empire. To improve this photograph I would crop the bottom out of the photo so that the hem line on Taylor's top could not be seen.
